Kapok is the lightest fiber in the world, with an excellent thermal capacity.
Kapok is a smooth and silky natural fiber (identifiable also as “vegetal feather” or “vegetal cashmere”), which comes from the fruit of a tropical plant belonging to the Bombacacee family. It is an annually renewable natural source in harmony with the environment.
Kapok is a hollow fiber, consisting of very thin cellulose tubes filled with air covered with a layer of natural wax, it is light and elastic, hypoallergenic and extremely insulating from a thermal point of view, since it can retain inside up to 80 % of air.
Kapok is washable and water repellent, it does not retain humidity and, being not very hygroscopic, it inhibits the proliferation of bacteria in a natural way.
Kapok, with its density of 0.35 g / cm³, is the lightest natural fiber in the world.
It is totally organic as it arises spontaneously in nature.
