SUSTAINABILITY AND RECYCLING HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A CORE PART OF THE COMPANY'S DNA

In the past, we used to collect discarded materials from local textile companies in order to create fillings for mattresses; moreover, in our production cycle, we always collected and continue to do so all the production scraps and reuse them in order to avoid waste.

UPCYCLING: THE IDEA OF RECYCLING, PLUS THE IDEA OF IMPROVEMENT OF QUALITY

Upcycling represents a variety of processes by which pre-consumer and post-industrial products get to be modified and get a second life as they’re turned into a “new” product.

The concept of Circular Economy responds to the desire for sustainable development, in the context of the growing pressure of production and consumption on the world’s resources and environment. To date, the economy has operated according to a “production-consumption-disposal” model, a linear model where every product is inexorably destined to reach the “end of its life.”

The transition from a Linear to a Circular Economy is the only solution in terms of safeguarding the planet and economic sustainability that offers a new opportunity in terms of competitiveness, innovation, environmental protection and job creation. This has led the company to take concrete action in rethinking its processes, intentions and supply chain relations; Imbotex aims to offer responsible paddings, encouraging the reduction of resource consumption as virgin raw materials,water and energy.

IMBOTEX LAB AND SUSTAINABLE PADDINGS

In a Circular Economy, the aim is to create less waste by making the most out of every possible material involved in the production process. Upcycle process is less impactful in terms of energy consumption, waste production, water usage, CO2 emissions, and it is a new frontier for ecologically-responsible fashion, giving new purpose to otherwise discarded precious materials.

In 2019 we founded a new branch, Imbotex Lab, totally focused on the Circular Economy concept. We patented a process based on innovative technologies SPLIT IN 3 STEPS:

  • collection of discarded virgin material scraps from production, then sorted per different colors;

  • transformed through a mechanical process into very fine fibers;

  • blended with recycled polyester to create the pad.
