Tirol Wool: the wool that offers warmth, breathability and insulation

Wool is the perfect insulation fabric due to its outstanding thermal properties and excellent climate control.

Our TirolWool comes from mountain sheep raised in South Tirol (Brillenschafe) and Austrian Tirol (Bergschafe) where they have been used to make warm clothing for many centuries.

Tirolean Bergschafe have distinctive narrow faces and long ears, spend the summer grazing at about 2,000 metres and produce a medium-fine wool. The Brillenschaf is the oldest breed in South Tirol and has black patches around the eyes that give it its name (Brillen is German for glasses). It provides a very soft wool that is ideal for warm winter clothing. Both have strong ankles and hooves, which make them particularly sure-footed and agile in the mountains.

We are committed to supporting our regional economy by using this local high-alpine wool and paying a fair price to farmers.

Tirol Wool is washed, combed and treated for washability in northern Italy (Biella) to reduce transport and CO2 emissions and guarantee high standards.
