Pyrotex, flame and heat resistant padding
Pyrotex is the new insulation produced with an engineered acrylic fiber which, besides other properties, is permanently flame and heat resistant. It doesn’t contain antimony, halogens, phosphorous or bromides.
Numerous tests have approved the performances of Pyrotex in being flame- and heat resistant up to 250° C. Other important features that characterize this insulation are its bacteria-resistance, its moisture absorbency up to 12%, its resistance to UV rays and the softness and flexibility to the touch.
Pyrotex is Oexo-Tex Class 1 certified and FDA approved.
LIMITING OXYGEN INDEX (LOI)
Determines the relative flammability of polymeric materials. The higher the LOI (Limiting Oxygen Index) the better the flame resistance.
THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY (K-VALUE)
Determines the ability of a material to conduct temperature. The lower the value, the better the thermal protection.
